Comps for Rusty

My friend Rusty asked me to send him this comp so I decided instead of just shoot the tracks, I'd go the extra mile and get that art in there and put up a couple more classics that fit the theme. This comp is absolutely punishing. Meanstreak and Integrity win this comp by a long shot. I feel physically worn out by how hard the Meanstreak track is and the comp version of Integrity's 'Darkness' is just as its name implies. So fucking good.  All Clevo artists but the comp starts out with a serious late 80s NY vibe with Life Cycle, Face Value brings the groove and Insight gives me Judge vibes a little. Nothing really needs to be said about the giants that are Confront.

The Generation of Hope comp is a staple for hard ass youth crew aficionados. If you like Side By Side you're gonna love the Against the Wall track. It's a different recording than the 7". The only place this comp really loses me is the Full On Straight track but everything else is a bonafide classic jammer. Hard comp.

The End the Warzone comp. I already wrote a short little diddy on this years ago on this blog that I never use. You can view that post but all there really is to know is that these Straight Ahead tracks are where it's at.

I bought this comp probably eight years ago mostly to hear the Burn track because I had a Burn collection I had just finished at the time. There were no downloads anywhere on the internet at that time so I bought the record to rip it. Little did I know what a treat it'd be. The Born Against and Rorschach tracks are the best tracks by those artists in my opinion. The version of 'Checkmate' before the vocalist blew his vocals is hard as fuck. The Turning Point track everyone knows and loves and Citizens Arrest is of course gonna be dark and hard hitting. Really good comp. The version of 'Decay' is different than the one on Cleanse so it's cool to see how it's changed lyrically and musically. Great comp.
